The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and faced problems to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by regional authorities.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

He said that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes struck power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy died and several individuals were injured.

The assaults come after nights of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to identify.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
